Youth killed, girl injured after jumping in front of train in Bhadohi

Bhadohi (UP), May 21 (UNI) A youth was killed and a girl was injured after being hit by a train near Kandhiya railway crossing in Chauri area of Bhadohi district here in Uttar Pradesh, Government Railway Police (GRP) sources said here on Wednesday.

GRP sources said that a couple jumped in front of a train near Kandhiya railway crossing on Varanasi-Janghai railway section in Chauri police station area of the district on Tuesday night.

"While the youth died on the spot, the girl sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to the hospital, where her condition remains critical," they said.

Sources said that according to eyewitnesses, a couple reached near Kandhiya gate late at night by auto. "After parking the auto, the couple reached the east side of the gate and jumped in front of a goods train going from Varanasi to Unchahar," they said.

Sources said that the police identified the youth as Vijay Yadav (30) and the girl found unconscious was identified as Kajal Gautam (25), a resident of Sonhar police station Bhadohi. "The girl was sent to Bhadohi Community Health Centre. Her both feet were amputated in the incident," they said.
