Navy firefighting teams assist in containing blaze at Old Harbour Hotel in Fort Kochi

Kochi, Sep 30 (UNI) Indian Navy firefighting teams assisted civil authorities in bringing under control a fire that broke out at the historic Old Harbour Hotel at Fort Kochi here Tuesday night.
Following a request from the Kochi Commissioner of Police, the Southern Naval Command immediately mobilised firefighting resources to assist the local authorities in containing the blaze.
Defence Fire Tenders (DFTs) from INS Dronachar, INS Venduruthy and INS Garuda were deployed at the site. Naval firefighting teams worked alongside personnel from the local fire and police departments in the operation.
The coordinated efforts of the responding agencies helped bring the fire under control.
The Southern Naval Command's prompt response was in line with the Indian Navy's role in extending assistance to civil authorities during emergencies and disaster situations.
