AISF demands criminal action against MVSR college management over fatal accident

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) has demanded strict action against the management of MVSR Engineering College at Nadargul in Ranga Reddy district following the collapse of a lighting structure during a Dandiya event on Saturday.
In a statement on Sunday, AISF State President Kasireddy Manikanta Reddy and State Secretary Putta Lakshman expressed grief over the incident, which reportedly left two students dead and several others injured. They alleged that the tragedy occurred due to negligence by the college management and claimed that the event was organised without the required permissions and in violation of Higher Education Department regulations.
The AISF leaders demanded registration of a case, including attempted murder charges, against the management and sought immediate action against those responsible. They also called for the revocation of the college’s recognition for alleged regulatory violations.
Expressing concern over private engineering colleges allegedly giving priority to events over academics and student safety, they urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Higher Education Department to ensure strict compliance with regulations by all engineering colleges and prevent such incidents.
