INCOIS regional centre at Kakinada soon: MP Sana Sathish

Kakinada, Sept 15 (UNI) Efforts are underway to establish a regional centre of the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) or the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) in Kakinada, Rajya Sabha member Sana Sathish Babu said on Tuesday.
Sathish Babu said he had met union Minister Jitendra Singh in Delhi on July 21 and urged him to establish the regional centre in Kakinada.
The proposed centre would provide fishermen with information on potential fishing zones, weather conditions, cyclones and advance warnings about possible accidents at sea, besides strengthening coastal safety, he said.
