Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharsan Reddy has rejected a newspaper report titled “95,00,000 Votlu Out”, stating that the claim was incorrect and far from the truth.
In a statement on Friday, the CEO clarified that the actual status of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state, as of 1000 hours, showed that 73,39,235 electors had been placed in the Absent, Shifted, Duplicate and Death (ASDD) category.
A total of 92,88,187 notices had been generated, of which 92,23,486 had been delivered, while 64,701 notices were pending delivery, the statement said.
The CEO said 82,11,205 hearings had been held so far. Of those cases, 74,62,851 electors had been found eligible for inclusion in the final publication, while 12,969 had been found ineligible. Decisions were yet to be taken on 18,12,367 electors.
According to the schedule released by the Election Commission of India (ECI), November 5, 2026, is the deadline for the disposal of notices, claims and objections. The remaining cases would be decided before the stipulated deadline, the CEO said.
The CEO reiterated that the claim that 95 lakh voters had been removed was incorrect, as the revision process was still underway and final decisions on the pending cases had not yet been completed.
