Telangana Govt constitutes WEEC ahead of Global Summit 2026

Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) The Telangana government has constituted the Women Entrepreneurs Executive Council (WEEC) ahead of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled from December 7 to 9 at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad, to promote investments and improve access to funding for women-led businesses.
The Council is chaired by Minister for Women and Child Welfare D. Anasuya Seethakka, with WE Hub CEO Sita Pallacholla as Member Convenor. It brings together policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors and corporate leaders to identify measures to strengthen women's entrepreneurship.
The Council will focus on four pillars — Policy and Institutional Leadership, Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Social Impact and Inclusive Enterprise, and Capital, Investment and Corporate Partnerships, led respectively by Divya Devarajan, Naiyya Saggi, Dr. Harish Hande and Ankita Vashishtha.
Speaking on the initiative, Seethakka said women entrepreneurs deserved better access to capital, markets and policy support, adding that women's enterprises should be viewed as drivers of economic growth rather than merely welfare initiatives.
The Council's recommendations will be compiled into a white paper on women's entrepreneurship, to be released on December 8, 2026, with EY as the publication partner. WE Hub will serve as the nodal agency for implementing the recommendations through the concerned government departments.
According to DealStreetAsia's funding review cited by the Council, startups founded exclusively by women raised only 0.97 per cent of private capital in India in 2025, according to an official statement on Monday.
