Telangana Govt seeks Korean investments, targets jobs and technology Transfer: Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad, Oct 25 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the State government was prioritising investments from South Korean companies, with a focus on job creation, technology transfer and skill development among youth.
Speaking as the chief guest at the K-Harmony Festa – Korea Culture Day 2026, held at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad, he said Telangana offered significant opportunities for collaboration with Korean companies in electronics, electric vehicles, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, renewable energy and emerging technologies.
Bhatti Vikramarka recalled that investment discussions during Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s visit to South Korea in August 2024 had laid the foundation for stronger economic cooperation. He said the government was committed to expanding the partnership and creating more investment and employment opportunities.
Highlighting tourism as a promising sector, the Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana’s Tourism Policy 2025–2030 aimed to attract investments worth Rs 15,000 crore and generate three lakh additional jobs over five years. He invited Korean companies to explore opportunities in tourism infrastructure, hospitality, film tourism, wellness tourism and cultural experiences.
He said Telangana could learn from South Korea’s economic transformation, particularly its investments in education, skills, infrastructure and technology. He also called for stronger cooperation among industries, universities, research institutions, startups and small enterprises.
Describing cultural exchanges as an important part of India–South Korea relations, Bhatti Vikramarka said the festival would strengthen friendship between the people of the two countries.
He highlighted the global popularity of Korean music, films and television programmes and noted similarities between Indian and Korean societies in family values, traditions and respect for elders.
Referring to the legend of Queen Heo Hwang-ok, who is believed to have travelled to Korea from ancient India, he said it symbolised the historical links between the two countries.
The Deputy Chief Minister also showcased Telangana’s cultural heritage and tourism attractions, including Bathukamma, Bonalu, Charminar, Golconda Fort, the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple and Buddhavanam near Nagarjuna Sagar. He invited Korean tourists to visit Telangana and encouraged young people from both regions to explore opportunities in education, research, employment and creative industries.
“Hyderabad is like a second home for our Korean friends,” he said, emphasising that mutual understanding and people-to-people connections were as important as investments and trade agreements.
Republic of Korea Ambassador to India Lee Seung-ho welcomed Bhatti Vikramarka to the event.
