Bengaluru, May 13 (UNI) Senior BJP leaders R Ashoka and Dr CN Ashwathnarayan on Tuesday announced a series of yatras across Karnataka, including a Tiranga Yatra in Bengaluru on May 15, to express solidarity with the Indian armed forces and pay tribute to their exemplary service in defending the nation.
Speaking to reporters here, Ashoka said the initiative, named Operation Sindoor, is aimed at rallying public support for the armed forces. "This is not a political programme — there will be no party flags or political messaging. On May 15, the yatra will be held in Bengaluru. After May 15, it will be extended to every taluk and district in Karnataka. Citizens from across the country are welcome to join and show their support," he said.
Echoing similar sentiments, Ashwathnarayan said the recent attack in Pahalgam underscored the importance of standing united against terrorism.
"Our soldiers responded with remarkable strength, causing significant damage to Pakistani air bases and terror training camps with minimal or no losses. This reflects India’s advanced warfare capabilities, which are now on par with the best in the world," he said.
He asserted that the country maintains a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. "This is not just about Kashmir — this is about rooting out terrorism entirely. Those backing terrorists will not be spared. Our firm response has forced Pakistan to de-escalate."
Ashwathnarayan invited all citizens — regardless of profession or background — to join in expressing their collective gratitude to the Indian soldiers "and to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership these decisive actions were taken." UNI BDN SSP
