Telangana Cong govt using Commission notices to distract public corruption: BRS

Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) Shifting focus to the Kaleshwaram project and commission-related notices, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday accused the Congress party of resorting to ‘filthy politics’ under the guise of commission notices.
"These are nothing but a cover-up for their own corrupt agenda," KTR alleged during a chit chat with the media here.
KTR said the smear campaign against the Palamuru-Rangareddy project has already collapsed after the Supreme Court's observations.
“Soon, the same will happen with the propaganda against Kaleshwaram. The real motive behind these notices is to cancel and re-tender projects to collect 20–30 percent commissions,” he alleged.
“The Justice Pinakini Gosh Commission has said that it had completed its report and inquiry. Why is the deadline being extended again? The government must answer,” he demanded, said that the BRS had not yet received formal notices on Kaleshwaram.
KTR said even the Supreme Court and Central Water Commission have recognised the engineering significance of Kaleshwaram.
“But the ignorant Chief Minister fails to see what experts across the country have already acknowledged,” he added.
It may mentioned here that Ghosh Commission had earlier issued summons to former Chief Minister and BRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), former Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and BJP MP Eatala Rajender, who also served as a Minister during the BRS rule, in the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP)
The one-man Commission, which has been probing financial and procedural lapses in the multi-crore irrigation project, directed the three political leaders to appear for questioning in the first week of June. KCR was asked to appear before the panel on June five, followed by Harish on June six and Eatala on June nine.
KTR concluded by demanding immediate completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy project to deliver irrigation to Mahabubnagar farmers.
