Amit Shah's Hyderabad visit brought no benefit to Telangana: Mahesh Kumar Goud

Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday criticised union Home Minister Amit Shah's Hyderabad visit, stating that it had brought no benefit to Telangana and that the Centre should have addressed the promises made to the State during bifurcation instead of holding political rallies.
In a statement, Goud questioned the purpose of Shah's participation in the ‘Save Democracy’ march and demanded answers on pending bifurcation commitments, including the Kazipet Railway Coach Factory, Bayyaram Steel Plant, national status for irrigation projects and the release of the State's rightful share of central funds and tax revenues.
He also questioned the Centre over employment opportunities for youth and support for farmers, and demanded that Shah release a white paper detailing the Centre's contributions to Telangana.
On the SIR of electoral rolls, Goud said the Congress was concerned about the deletion of eligible voters and urged the BJP to ensure that no genuine voter loses the right to vote. He said the Centre must respond to the concerns raised by the Congress instead of criticising the party.
Rejecting the BJP's allegations of ‘RR Tax’, Goud said the Congress government was implementing welfare programmes for farmers, women, youth and weaker sections despite what he described as the Centre's discriminatory approach towards Telangana. He alleged that the BJP remembered the State only during elections and demanded that it focus on Telangana's development and people's rights.
