Telangana: BJP slams Congress Govt for neglecting tribal issues

Hyderabad, Oct 22 (UNI) BJP Telangana president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday demanded that the Congress government address unresolved issues affecting tribal communities, particularly those concerning Podu lands, instead of making promises during elections.
Addressing a gathering at the BJP state office after paying floral tributes to tribal freedom fighter Komaram Bheem on his birth anniversary, Rao criticised the government for neglecting the development of tribal and agency areas.
He pointed to inadequate medical facilities, roads and schools, besides concerns over the roster system for Scheduled Tribe reservations.
Recalling Komaram Bheem’s struggle against the Nizam’s rule under the slogan “Jal, Jungle, Zameen” (Water, Forest, Land), Rao said his fight for tribal rights and land continued to inspire people.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, BJP MPs, MLAs and other party leaders also paid tributes to Komaram Bheem, raising slogans in honour of his legacy.
