Revanth govt brings Old City into Hyderabad development mainstream: Sameer

Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) Congress leader and Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency in-charge Mohammed Waliullah Sameer on Sunday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had brought the Old City into Hyderabad's development mainstream by focusing on long-pending infrastructure, healthcare, housing and connectivity projects.
Marking 1,000 days of the Congress government, Sameer in a statement highlighted the Rs 620-crore Chanchalguda-Santoshnagar flyover, accelerated Old City Metro works, the proposed 2,000-bed Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal, Indiramma housing, the Mir Alam Tank bridge and Musi rejuvenation programme.
He said the Old City Metro's MGBS-Chandrayangutta corridor would improve connectivity for lakhs of people, while one lakh Indiramma houses proposed for the Hyderabad Core Urban Region would help poorer families stay closer to workplaces, schools and healthcare facilities.
Sameer also cited welfare schemes including free bus travel for women, Gruha Jyothi free electricity, subsidised LPG cylinders, new ration cards and enhanced Rajiv Aarogyasri coverage.
He said the government had adopted an integrated approach covering transport, housing, healthcare, education and employment and stressed the need for timely completion of ongoing and proposed projects in the Old City.
