KTR demands release of pending Rythu Bandhu dues, seeks Rs 60,000 per acre for farmers

Adilabad, Nov 1 (UNI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday demanded that the Congress government release all pending Rythu Bandhu dues and pay farmers Rs 60,000 per acre, covering three withheld installments and the investment assistance due for the current Yasangi season.
Addressing a Rythu Garjana public meeting in Adilabad, KTR blamed the Revanth Reddy government for the drought-like conditions in Telangana, alleging that the situation was caused by administrative failures rather than nature.
He said the government could not evade responsibility by citing El Niño and urged it to fulfil its promises to tenant farmers and agricultural labourers.
He questioned the government's failure to implement the Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver, Rythu Bharosa and other poll promises.
He also alleged that nearly one lakh cusecs of Godavari water was flowing downstream from the Kannepalli pump house without being utilised and criticised the government for neglecting irrigation projects.
KTR accused both the Congress state government and the BJP-led Centre of neglecting Telangana, citing the closure of the CCI factory in Adilabad and the lack of major educational and medical institutions in the district.
He assured farmers that the BRS would continue to fight for their rights.
Earlier, KTR extended financial assistance of lakh each to the families of five children who died in the recent fire accident at Adilabad's RIMS hospital, on behalf of the BRS.
