Telangana Owaisi alleges bid to delete 122 Muslim voters in Goshamahal

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (UNI) AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that an attempt was made to delete the names of 122 Muslim voters from the electoral rolls at polling station No. 28 in the Goshamahal Assembly constituency through pre-printed Form 7 applications.
Talking to the media in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Owaisi claimed that the forms carried the name and phone number of a person identified by him as a BJP supporter and that all 122 voters targeted for deletion belonged to the Muslim community. He said several of the voters had been on the electoral rolls since 2002 and were also present in the latest draft rolls.
He demanded an inquiry into the source and authorisation of the pre-printed forms and strict action against those responsible. He also thanked the Booth Level Officer for refusing to accept the forms and said an AIMIM delegation would meet Telangana election officials over the issue.
Owaisi urged the Election Commission and the Telangana government to prevent any wrongful deletion of eligible voters and investigate the Goshamahal case.
