Congress questioning electoral system out of fear of losing, alleges Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Monday criticised the Congress over its stand on the Election Commission and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging that the party was attempting to create doubts about the country’s electoral system.
Addressing a meeting of BJP state office-bearers, district presidents and senior leaders at the party’s state office, Rao said the SIR was aimed at updating electoral rolls and removing ineligible, duplicate and bogus entries while protecting the voting rights of genuine citizens. His remarks come amid an ongoing political dispute between the BJP and opposition parties over the SIR exercise.
Rao alleged that the Congress was questioning EVMs and the Election Commission when it faced electoral setbacks, while accepting the same system when it won.
