TN Fin Min urges Nirmala to ensure fair tax share from centre, seeks release of due share of funds

Chennai, Sep 20 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Finance Minister N Marie Wilson met union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi and urged her to ensure fair share of central tax revenues for the state and expedite release of due share of funds, clear pending GST compensation, besides giving financial freedom for states for energy transition and increasing FPO credit guarantee limit from Rs.two crores to five crores.
In a social media post, Wilson said he met Ms Nirmala on the sidelines of the State Finance Ministers’ conference on “Financing
India’s Journey Towards Viksit Bharat”, chaired by her at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, and submitted a memorandum containing key demands of the state.
During his meeting with Nirmala, Wilson said he raised several issues concerning the State’s finances and development. He sought
the early release of funds for schemes implemented jointly by the Centre and the State, particularly those relating to Municipal Administration and School Education, disaster relief and immediate release of pending GST compensation, besides increase the
States’ share in tax devolution to ensure a fair distribution of central tax revenues.
He also urged her increase the FPO Credit Guarantee Limit from Rs two crores to Rs five corre, removal of GST in e-NWR trade, financial freedom forenergy transition, among others. Apart from
