Kerala says no funds, Railway decides to bear 100pc cost of 55 ROBs

Thiruvananthapuram, May 15 (UNI) Due to inability of the Kerala government to bear its agreed share of 50pc cost of Road Over Bridges (ROBs), the railway decides to bear 100 pc cost of 55 ROBs in Kerala in the public interest.
A total of 126 numbers of ROBs in lieu of busy level crossings have been sanctioned in Kerala on 50pc cost sharing basis between the railway and the state government as per the standard model.
However, the state government has not been able to provide funds for their agreed share leading to languishing of most of these important projects of public interest for years.
