Kakinada MLA performs Varuna Yagam seeking rains

Kakinada, Oct 6 (UNI) Kakinada City MLA Vanamadi Kondababu performed a Varuna Yagam at the Balatripura Sundari Devi Temple here on Tuesday, seeking rains amid drought-like conditions prevailing in several parts of the state.
Speaking to mediapersons, Kondababu said the ritual was performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Varuna and seek adequate rainfall to help people overcome drought conditions.
He said the Varuna Yagam was conducted under the auspices of the Endowments Department, seeking good rains to ensure a good crop and prevent drinking water shortages.
Endowments Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Babu, temple Executive Officer Veerraju Choudary, Trust Board chairman Grandhi Babji and trust members were among those present.
