112 DSPs complete training at Telangana Police Academy, DGP stresses integrity & leadership

Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) Telangana Director General of Police C V Anand on Monday urged newly trained Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to uphold integrity, impartiality and constitutional values while discharging their duties, stressing that public service and protection of lives were the core responsibilities of the police force.
Addressing the passing-out parade of 112 DSPs at the Telangana Police Academy, he said wearing the police uniform was a privilege, noting that only about 90,000 people among Telangana's four crore population had the opportunity to serve in the police force. The batch, comprising 74 men and 38 women, is the first to complete full-scale DSP training since 2014.
Anand advised the officers to cultivate courage, vision, ethical values, teamwork, communication skills, technical knowledge, innovative thinking and humility.
He said they had completed 44 weeks of institutional training and would undergo another 46 weeks of field training, urging them to maintain discipline, fitness and dedication throughout their careers.
Highlighting emerging policing challenges, he said cybercrime, organised crime and road safety required officers to adapt to changing circumstances. He referred to the strengthening and reorganisation of specialised units, including Greyhounds, Eagle Force, the Cyber Security Bureau, TG-FAST and TG-SPARK.
Police Academy Director Abhilash Bisht said the trainees had received instruction in criminal laws, forensic science, investigation, cybercrime, weapon handling, fieldcraft, disaster management and other professional skills. He noted that the batch included former government employees and four former police sub-inspectors.
Neha Agarwal received the Chief Minister's Revolver for best all-round performance, along with three other awards. L. Srikanth won the DGP Trophy for outdoor subjects, while T. Jacob Abhishek received the best award in firing. Other trainees were recognised for excellence in forensic science, criminology and investigation.
Anand congratulated the successful trainees and academy staff, emphasising that the officers' conduct and performance would determine public trust in the police.
