Telangana showcases security, technological prowess to Miss World 2025 contestants

Hyderabad, May 18 (UNI) In a vibrant display of technological sophistication and public safety, 107 contestants of the 72nd Miss World Festival visited the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) here on Sunday.
The visit underscored the state’s commitment to cutting-edge safety infrastructure and its growing appeal as a global tourism destination.
The event began with a grand ceremonial escort by mounted police, creating an impressive visual as the contestants arrived at the centre.
The warm reception included a performance by the Telangana Police Pipe Band and a captivating dog show, showcasing the agility and precision of the K9 units.
An arms exhibition further highlighted the advanced weaponry and protective gear employed by the Telangana police to safeguard public spaces.
Inside the TGICCC—also known as the Integrated Command and Control Centre—the contestants were given a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art facility.
Designed to act as the nerve centre for the Hyderabad City Police, the TGICCC integrates surveillance systems, emergency response operations and real-time data analytics to ensure quick and coordinated responses during emergencies.
Participants observed how artificial intelligence and modern technology are being used to enhance urban safety and management.
The visit concluded with a cultural programme that offered the guests a glimpse into Telangana’s rich heritage and artistic traditions.
Julia Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, praised the initiative, stating, “It is truly inspiring to witness the Telangana government’s commitment to public safety and innovation. The TGICCC exemplifies how technology and dedicated policing can work together to build safer, more vibrant communities.”
This unique visit offered the Miss World contestants a deeper appreciation of the role of security in promoting progressive, inclusive and secure societies. It also reaffirmed Telangana’s position as a forward-looking state with global aspirations.
