No lapses in Mahalakshmi Scheme, 7,000 extra buses operated for Dasara: TGSRTC

Hyderabad, Oct 18 (UNI) The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has rejected allegations by former minister and BRS Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao regarding the implementation of the Mahalakshmi free bus travel scheme and the operation of special buses during the Dasara festival.
In a clarification, the corporation said there was no increase in ticket fares beyond the prescribed rules and no reduction in bus services during the festive season. It stated that ticket pricing during festivals was regulated in accordance with a 2003 government order.
The management said the Mahalakshmi scheme was being implemented successfully across the State, with measures in place to ensure that women passengers faced no inconvenience.
To meet the increased travel demand during Dasara, TGSRTC arranged 7,000 additional buses, of which 97 per cent of the additional services had been operated since October 10. The corporation said the special services had helped passengers reach their destinations safely.
Senior officials were continuously reviewing the arrangements to address passenger concerns, the management added, reaffirming its commitment to providing reliable and quality transport services.
