IMD forecasts gusty winds, ain in Andhra Pradesh for next seven days

Amaravati, Sept 26 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall at isolated places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema over the next seven days, from September 26 to October 2.
Strong surface winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph, with gusts up to 50 kmph, are likely at isolated places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema on September 26 and 27, according to the IMD’s weather bulletin issued on Saturday.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places in Rayalaseema from September 28 to 30, along with strong winds of 30–40 kmph at isolated places in the state’s coastal and Rayalaseema regions.
The IMD said rainfall occurred at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Saturday.
Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district recorded 3 cm of rainfall, while Kunavaram and Sompeta recorded 2 cm each. In Rayalaseema, Punganur in Chittoor district and Satyavedu in Tirupati district received 3 cm of rainfall each.
Tirupati recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius in the region, while Arogyavaram recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, the bulletin added.
