Mandaviya, PT Usha meet Indian fencing team ahead of Asian Games

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President P.T. Usha met the Indian fencing team on Sunday and extended their best wishes to the athletes ahead of their participation in the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
During the interaction, Mandaviya and Usha encouraged the fencers to remain focused, perform to the best of their ability and represent India with determination at the continental event.
Officials from the Fencing Association of India (FAI), including Secretary General and Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA) Secretary General Rajeev Mehta, Treasurer Debendra Kumar Sahu and Vice President K. Vineesh, are also travelling to Aichi-Nagoya along with team leader Bharatji Thakor.
The FAI officials will coordinate with the Indian team during the Games and provide support to the athletes and coaching staff.
India's fencers will compete across the foil, épée and sabre disciplines at the Asian Games.
The FAI extended its best wishes to the athletes, coaches, physiotherapists and officials accompanying the Indian fencing contingent.UNI AAB
