TN wins Sri Sathya Sai Natl Cricket League South Zone trophy

Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) Tamil Nadu South Team stood first and won the trophy in the Sri Sathya Sai National Cricket League south zone finals held at JB Cricket Ground, Turkayamajl(Ranga Reddy district) on Sunday.
Runner up goes to Telangana State Team which stood in second place in the League match.
Man of the Series goes to Venkat Rao, Andhra Pradesh Team, said P Venkat Rao, State President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Telangana, in a release here.
The nationwide T20 cricket tournament commemorates the Centenary Birth Celebrations of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and launched in July 2024 in Prashanti Nilayam Puttaparthi. The initiative aims to unite the youth of India, promoting the spirit of unity, togetherness, and oneness.
The three-day event, which concluded today, organized by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations India and in which seven teams from the South Zone, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka South, Karnataka North, Tamil Nadu South, Tamil Nadu North, and Kerala participated.
Over 852 teams from across the country have participated, making it perhaps the largest Cricket League in the world and has progressed through village, district, state, and zonal levels, culminating in the finals.
The zonal level finals are happening in six different places in India, with the South Zone finals taking place in Hyderabad from May 23-25, 2025.
The Finals will be held at Hillview Stadium, Prashanti Nilayam, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, from August 15-17.
The event was inaugurated by AK Khan, Former Commissioner of Police and presently Advisor, Minorities Welfare in the Government of Telangana in the presence of Sai Baba, Former Ranji Trophy player, Prof E Mukundan, Zonal President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, South Zone, on May 23, 2025.
MSK Prasad, Former Test Cricketer and Former Chairman, Selection Committee of Indian Cricket Team, attended as a special Guest at the Closing Ceremony today while VK Ramaswami, International Cricket Umpire, as Guest of Honour.
Agam Rao, Member, Hyderabad Cricket Association, Prof E Mukundan, Zonal President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, South Zone, KM Rao, Patron, National Cricket League Organizing committee, Sesha Sai, Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Telangana state Secretary, Dr Gopi Krishna, National Cricket League Organizing Secretary , many Ranji Trophy players Representatives from 7 southern states attended validctory function.
