Telangana Police shooters bag 15 medals at state, South Zone championships

Hyderabad, Sept 15 (UNI) Telangana Police shooters won 15 medals, including six gold, four silver and five bronze, at the recently held Telangana State and South Zone Shooting Championships-2026.
Director General of Police C V Anand on Tuesday congratulated the medal winners and appreciated their discipline, concentration and precision.
He wished them success in upcoming national and international competitions.
At the XII Telangana State Shooting Championship held at the HCU-SATG Shooting Range, Gachibowli, from June 20 to 28, the Telangana Police contingent won 11 medals comprising four gold, three silver and four bronze.
G Niranjan Reddy (PC 1304) of the 13th Battalion TGSP won gold in the 50-metre pistol and silver in the 25-metre standard pistol and 10-metre air pistol events.
Inspector A Prasanna Kumar of DG Technical Services won gold in the 50-metre pistol (Master) and bronze in the 25-metre centre-fire pistol (Master).
Inspector B James Babu of Future City won a silver and a bronze, while Women ASI V Suvarna of Warangal Commissionerate secured gold in the 50-metre rifle prone (Master Women).
CI B Shankar of CSW Hyderabad won gold in the 25-metre standard pistol (Master). P Srinivas, Head Constable of the 3rd Battalion TGSP, and Women PC B Shravani of Koutala Police Station also won medals.
At the 17th South Zone Shooting Championship held in Thiruvananthapuram from August 31 to September 8, Telangana Police shooters won four medals — two gold, one silver and one bronze.
Niranjan Reddy won gold in the 50-metre free pistol and 25-metre centre-fire pistol events and silver in the 25-metre standard pistol. Inspector B James Babu won bronze in the 25-metre standard pistol (Master).
IG (P&L) Gajarao Bhupal, Sports DSP Ramarao and other police officials congratulated the shooters and wished them further success.
