Maha Govt pushes to end Maratha quota standoff: 5.8 mn Kunbi records to be displayed across village panchayats

Mumbai, Sep 7 (UNI) Amid intensifying political heat over activist Manoj Jarange Patil’s ongoing hunger strike, the Maharashtra government has gone into overdrive, announcing that 5.8 million Kunbi records unearthed by the Justice Sandeep Shinde Committee will be officially displayed across all village panchayats.
Reviewing the implementation of quota-related measures via a video conference with divisional commissioners and district collectors across Marathwada, Maratha Reservation Sub-Committee Chairman and Water Resources Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil directed local administrations to organize special camps from September 10 to 17 to fast-track the distribution of caste certificates.
Stressing that the administration is operating strictly within the bounds of the law, Vikhe Patil noted that roughly 3.5 million Kunbi certificates have already been issued in the Marathwada region.
