Renowned actress, filmmaker and Marathi playwright Sai Paranjpe selected for 58th 'Vishnudas Bhave Gaurav' award

Sangli, Oct 9 (UNI) Renowned veteran actress, filmmaker, Marathi playwright, and screenwriter Sai Paranjpe has been selected for this year's prestigious 58th "Vishnudas Bhave Gaurav Padak" award, by the Akhil Bharatiya Natya Vidyamandir Committee (ABNVC), Sangli.
In a press conference today, Sharad Karale, ABNVC president, said that Ms Paranjpe, 86, has been selected for her outstanding contribution to plays, Marathi films and TV serials, as a actor, producer, director and writer.
The award includes Rs 30,000 in cash, a shawl, Shreephal and gold plated 'Manchinha' citation.
Karale said that Ms Paranjpe's plays 'Nanda Saukhe Bhare', Sakhe Shejari, Jasvandi, Maza Khel Mandu De, Soyrik were very popular and she had written nine plays for children.
Ms Paranjpe was honoured with the Zee Natya Gaurav Puraskar in 2025.
The award distribution function will be held on "Rangbhoomi Din" on November 5, 2026, Karale added.
