CM Fadnavis announces formation of SIT to probe Beed sexual abuse of minor

Mumbai, July 1 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in the Legislative Assembly here today that the state government will form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor girl in Beed.
Member Chetan Tupe had raised the issue in house.
Fadnavis said that a ‘SIT’ will be formed under the chairmanship of a senior woman IPS officer and a time-bound investigation will be conducted into the matter.
He also assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits and all those who supported the two accused.
The case involves the sexual harassment of a 17-year-old student at the Umakiran Educational Complex in Beed city for a year. The director and a teacher have been accused of repeated harassment of the minor for over the past year. The Maharashtra State Women’s Commission has taken serious note of the matter.
