I T Dept searches 12 premises linked to Rakul Preet Singh, Vashu Bhagnani, Panorama Studios

Mumbai, Sep 28 (UNI) The Income Tax Department on Monday conducted searches at around 12 premises in Mumbai allegedly linked to Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh, filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios in connection with a suspected tax evasion case, sources said.
Multiple teams of the Mumbai Income Tax Department are understood to be carrying out the searches as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in financial transactions and suspected diversion of funds abroad in the guise of film production, shooting and overseas distribution expenses.
Officials are examining financial records, bank statements, transaction details and digital devices as part of the operation, sources said.
A number of documents, electronic devices and files relating to financial dealings have reportedly been taken into custody for scrutiny.
The searches are focused on tracing the flow of funds and verifying whether expenses declared in connection with film production and overseas activities were genuine and properly accounted for, the sources said.
The operation is expected to continue as officials examine the material recovered during the searches and gather further evidence, sources added.
The Income Tax Department has not yet issued an official statement on the searches. Further details are expected after completion of the operation.
The allegations are subject to verification by the investigating authorities, and no conclusion regarding tax evasion has been established at this stage.
