CISF apprehends suspected fraudster with multiple Identities at Pune Airport

Pune, Sep 24 ( UNI) Alert CISF personnel apprehended a suspected fraudster at Pune Airport on Thursday after he allegedly duped an arriving passenger of rupees 11,000 using a false identity.
The passenger, who arrived from Hyderabad on IndiGo flight 6E-351 was approached by the suspect at the arrival gate. The suspect allegedly sought 20,000 citing financial difficulties, following which the passenger transferred rupees 11,000 to a Google Pay account provided by him.
CISF personnel monitoring the area noticed the suspicious interaction and intercepted the man. During verification, officials found discrepancies in his identity documents. The Google Pay account was registered in the name of Gujjaralapudi Bala Koteswara Rao, while his Aadhaar card and driving licence carried the name M. V. Dinesh Kumar. A Parul University identity card found in his possession bore another name, Alluru Shyam Prasad.
CISF officials also linked the suspect to a similar fraud reported at the airport on September 1, in which a passenger was allegedly cheated of rupees 18,600 using a similar modus operandi. CCTV footage reportedly helped establish the connection.
The suspect, along with the complainant, was subsequently handed over to Vimantal Police Station for further investigation and legal action. UNI SP CDS
