Kolhapur: Gokul's chairman election meeting postponed as quorum failed

Kolhapur, Oct 29 (UNI) The much-awaited election process for the post of Gokul Dudh Sangh president, which was to be held today, saw all 12 directors of the Mahayuti boycotting the meeting and remaining absent, and the required quorum of 14 directors could not be completed. As a result, election officials adjourned the special meeting.
With the creation of the political and technical dilemma by the Mahayuti alliance, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), NCP (AP,), Shinde Shiv Sena and Jansurajya Party, the selection of a new Gokul chairman has now been delayed.
The first special meeting of the newly-elected directors of Kolhapur District Milk Producer Farmers Sangh, popularly known as Gokul Dudh Sangh, to elect the chairman was held today at 11 am at the head office of the organization at Gokul Shirgaon.
The meeting began under the chairmanship of Mosami Chougule, the Principal Officer and Sub-Divisional Officer of the Karveer Department.
Out of the total 25 newly-elected directors of Gokul, only 13 directors were present for the meeting, while all 12 directors of the Mahayuti were absent.
As per the provisions of rules 14 (5A) and (12) of the bye-laws of the organization, the presence of at least 14 directors is legally mandatory for the meeting to be officially conducted.
However, the quorum could not be met, and the election process was officially adjourned.
After the meeting was adjourned, the 13 directors of the Satej Patil group who were present at the meeting took an aggressive stance.
They submitted a written representation directly to the election officials, requesting that the chairman selection process should continue as they have a clear majority of 13 directors.
However, officer Mosami Chougule rejected their representation, explaining that strict adherence to the rules in the bye-laws is mandatory.
