Rubio to hold talks with Jaishankar in Mumbai, pay tribute to 26/11 victims

Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will arrive in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon with a large business delegation as part of his official visit to India following his visit to Uzbekistan.
Rubio is scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar this afternoon for bilateral discussions on key areas, including trade, defence, security, technology and critical minerals, amid continuing strains in India-US relations.
During his visit, the US Secretary of State will also pay tribute to the victims of the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks at the Taj Memorial inside the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, one of the prominent sites targeted during the terror strikes.
A wreath-laying ceremony is scheduled to be held shortly after his arrival in the city to honour those who lost their lives in the attacks.
The November 26, 2008, terror attacks targeted several locations across Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, killing 166 people and leaving hundreds injured.
The attacks remain a significant chapter in India's fight against terrorism and in its security cooperation with the United States.
