Veteran Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar hospitalised

Pune, Nov 2 (UNI) Veteran leader and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) founder Sharad Pawar was admitted to Pune’s Ruby Hall Clinic on Monday after complaining of acute chest discomfort.
The 85-year-old octogenarian leader was rushed to the medical facility following a severe bout of coughing and symptoms identified as pleuritic pain—a sharp chest discomfort that typically intensifies during breathing, coughing, or sneezing due to inflammation of the membrane surrounding the lungs.
The sudden health setback also forced the veteran politician to abruptly cancel a scheduled drought-assessment tour in the region, prompting his direct return from Solapur to Pune.
Assuaging growing concerns among party cadres and supporters, the leader's daughter, Baramati MP and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule, took to social media to share an official health update.
"Baba has been admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune, following a bout of cough. He is undergoing medical tests, and all his health parameters are stable. Thank you all for your concern and good wishes," Sule posted on X.
Echoing her reassurances, Dr Purvez K. Grant, Chief Cardiologist, Chairman, and Managing Trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, stated that the veteran leader's condition is expected to stabilise completely. Medical practitioners have kept him under close observation as a standard precautionary measure while a series of routine diagnostic evaluations are carried out.
