Ratan Tata's pet dog Goa injured outside Bombay House, recovering after treatment

Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) Goa, the pet dog closely associated with late industrialist Ratan Tata sustained injuries after being hit by a car outside Bombay House, the Tata Group headquarters in Mumbai's Fort area, on Thursday, October 8. The incident occurred a day before Tata's second death anniversary. The dog received immediate medical attention and is reportedly recovering.
Following the accident, Goa was taken inside Bombay House, where treatment was provided for injuries to his paw.
Noel Tata visited the premises to check on the dog's condition.
Although Goa was reported to be recovering well by Thursday evening, he continued to show signs of discomfort and reportedly howled whenever his injured paw was touched.
Parish priest Fr Joseph D'Souza said Goa was recovering and was expected to participate in the forthcoming Blessing of Pets ceremony at Our Lady of Health Church in Cavel, Kalbadevi, on Sunday, October 11.
The priest expressed hope that the dog would recover sufficiently to attend the ceremony as scheduled.
The accident occurred shortly before the second death anniversary of Ratan Tata, who died on October 9, 2024, at the age of 86.
The industrialist and philanthropist was widely recognised for his leadership of the Tata Group, his contribution to expanding the conglomerate's international presence and his charitable activities. His personal humility and affection for animals were also prominent aspects of his public life.
Goa had a close association with Tata and Bombay House and continued to receive attention from people familiar with the industrialist's concern for animal welfare.
Tata's affection for animals formed an important part of his legacy beyond business, alongside his philanthropic initiatives and contributions to the development of the Tata Group.
