Aaditya Thackeray terms allegations in Disha Salian case as politically motivated

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray today strongly countered the allegations against him in the Disha Salian case. Taking to social media he dismissed the allegations as a politically motivated smear campaign.
Denying any acquaintance or meeting with the deceased celebrity manager, Thackeray stated: "To clear the air of rumors, I am stating facts once again: I have never met Disha Salian, nor did I have any acquaintance with her. For the past six years, a deliberate attempt has been made by certain people out of political malice and personal hatred to link my name to this tragic incident repeatedly, without any proof or connection.”
Maintaining that continuous media trials and malicious narratives cannot alter the truth, Thackeray welcomed an unbiased legal process:
"Let the official agencies conduct this fresh inquiry impartially, without any interference, harassment, or political pressure. Whoever thinks they can silence us through character assassination and false propaganda is living in an illusion. Our fight for truth and justice against injustice will continue.”
The response comes as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a fresh First Information Report (FIR) into the tragic 2020 death of celebrity manager Disha Salian.
Following directives from the Bombay High Court, the newly filed case names several high-profile political figures—including former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, and former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh -- stoking an intense political firestorm across the state.
The high-stakes investigation has been handed over to decorated, gold-medallist CBI officer and Superintendent of Police (SP) Seema Pahuja, renowned for handling high-profile cases like Hathras and RG Kar.
The New FIR was filed following a detailed statement by Disha's father, Satish Salian. The CBI has invoked charges related to criminal conspiracy, murder, gang rape, destruction of evidence, and a massive cover-up.
While the FIR lists political heavyweights, actors (including Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, and Rhea Chakraborty), and multiple senior police officials whose roles require examination, the agency clarified that no individuals have been formally designated as accused at this stage.
