Maha Deputy CM slams Rahul Gandhi, INDIA Bloc over SC Court march, alleges international conspiracy

Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI) Launching a direct assault on the opposition, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Tuesday alleged that the 'INDIA' bloc and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were acting as "pawns of foreign forces" to destabilise the nation and trigger anarchy after failing to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi electorally.
Addressing media personnel here, Shinde termed the opposition's recent protest march toward the Supreme Court a "black day in Indian democracy" and demanded an unconditional public apology from Gandhi for attempting to pressure the apex judiciary.
"Holding the Constitution in hand while working to destroy it is the agenda currently being executed by the Congress and the INDIA alliance," Shinde said, adding that mounting political agitations in the national capital were part of a larger, deep-rooted international conspiracy to throttle democracy.
The Deputy Chief Minister lashed out at the opposition for regularly drawing parallels with recent political unrest in neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. He stated that such comparisons were intended to send a dangerous signal aimed at spreading chaos and distrust among the public.
Reacting to allegations concerning the Election Commission and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Shinde called out the opposition's double standards. He questioned why those making accusations of vote theft remained silent when the same electoral process resulted in opposition victories in states like Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
Shinde further condemned the opposition for systematically disparaging constitutional institutions and public functionaries. He pointed out that opposition leaders have continually questioned the Chief Justice of India, the Election Commission, the armed forces, media professionals, and the police, while using unparliamentary language against the Prime Minister.
"The people of India are witnessing these anti-national tendencies and will teach the opposition a fitting lesson. While India's global standing is rising, these leaders are speaking the language of hostile neighbours like Pakistan to stall the country's growth," Shinde added.
