Wadekar calls for support for Mahayuti candidates in council polls

Pune, Oct 18 ( UNI) Deputy Mayor Parshuram Wadekar appealed to voters to support the BJP-led Mahayuti's official candidates in the Pune Graduates' and Teachers' constituencies in the upcoming Legislative Council elections.
Dr Smita Yogesh Jadhav is contesting from the Pune Graduates' constituency, while Kaustubh Muralidhar Gawade is the alliance's candidate for the Pune Teachers' constituency. Wadekar urged voters to give both candidates their first-preference votes.
Addressing party workers at a meeting held at the party office under city president Sanjay Sonawane's chairmanship, Wadekar called for a door-to-door campaign to reach voters across the constituencies.
He said the candidates were capable and expressed confidence in the Mahayuti's prospects in the elections scheduled for the 23rd.
Wadekar added that, following the directions of union Minister and Republican Party of India (Athawale) leader Ramdas Athawale, the party's corporators and workers had joined the campaign to mobilise support for both candidates. UNI SP AAB
