FIR against Sena (UBT), MNS organisers for holding protest march without permission

Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) Mumbai Police have registered an offence against organisers of a joint protest march by Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for allegedly holding the march without permission and violating prohibitory orders, police officials said on Sunday.
The offence was registered at the local Azad Maidan police station.
Police is examining the alleged violation while the names of the accused were not made available.
The protest march was led by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray against the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Maharashtra.
The two parties organised the protest to oppose alleged irregularities in the voter list revision process.
They accused the Election Commission of risking the removal of eligible voters' names and demanded the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
