Maha govt decides to provide 10 per cent parallel reservation to 'Agniveers' in service: Shambhuraj Desai

Kolhapur, Oct 4 (UNI) State Ex-servicemen Welfare minister Shambhuraj Desai today said that the state government had taken a decision through the Soldiers Welfare Department to provide 10 per cent parallel reservation to 'Agniveers' in the services of the Maharashtra government.
He was addressing the concluding session of two-day national convention of the All India Former Soldiers Service Council (AIFSSC) at Siddhgiri Kaneri Math in Kaneri village of Karveer tehsil in the district this evening.
Referring to the statement made by the council on the issue of Agniveers, he said the government had decided to provide 10 per cent parallel reservation to 'Agniveers' in the services.
He also specially appreciated the contribution of ex-servicemen in civic life. He informed about the government's proposed Military Mall, War Memorial and various schemes for ex-servicemen.
In the convention, it was unanimously decided to re-appoint Lieutenant General V. K. Chaturvedi, National President of the All India Ex-Servicemen's Service Council, as the National President for the next three years.
Around 550 ex-servicemen and their families from across the country participated and brainstormed on various issues of ex-servicemen.
On the second day, various schemes and projects of the council at the national level were reviewed. On this occasion, the official websites of Maharashtra and Goa states of the council were unveiled.
Various problems and demands of ex-servicemen were discussed for their pros and cons and necessary planning was discussed to present them at the appropriate level. UNI SSS SS
