Conditions favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon over remaining parts of country

Pune, June 27(UNI) Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon over remaining parts of the country during next 3- 4 days.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal ( > 5.1°C) at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya and Odisha; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) anda few places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu- Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
The day temperatures above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Maharashtra and Rayalaseema.
The temperatures near normal (-1.5°C to 1.5°C) at many places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and West Rajasthan; at most places over Gangetic West Bengal, east Uttar Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep; at a few places over Andaman
and Nicobar Islands, Saurashtra and Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, north interior Karnataka and south interior Karnataka; at isolated places over Punjab, east Rajasthan,
Marathwada, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.3°C was reported at Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

The Southwest Monsoon has been active over west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Vidarbha and Kerala. It has been subdued over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala and at many places in Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha,
east Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch and Lakshadweep and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, south interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs today.
