Maha CM announces immediate drought relief and crackdown on misuse of Mathadi Act

Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) In a decisive dual-front move addressing agrarian distress and urban labour welfare, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced immediate administrative measures to tackle the state’s severe drought crisis while drawing a hard line against the exploitation of labour laws.
Following ground inspections of parched farmlands, Fadnavis acknowledged the gravity of crop failures and water scarcity, declaring that official relief notifications would be fast-tracked.
Simultaneously, shifting focus to Navi Mumbai, the Chief Minister served a stern warning to elements misusing the late Annasaheb Patil’s Mathadi Act for personal enrichment, while unveiling major housing and redevelopment packages for genuine workers.

Kolhapur, Sep 28 (UNI) A man was killed on the spot while his wife was seriously injured when a speeding car hit their motorcycle, on the Vadgaon-Hatkanangale road at Vadgaon in Hatkanangale tehsil of this district today.
According to Vadgaon police, Deepak Ravsaheb Shinde, a resident of Miraj town in Sangli district, was returning home with his wife Aashadevi after meeting a relative when a speeding car rammed their bike after the car driver lost control on the wheel.
