Qalibaf warns US, Israel of 'response beyond enemy's imagination' to any attack on Iran

Tehran, Oct 25 (UNI) Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on Sunday warned that any violation of Iran's territorial integrity would trigger a response "beyond the enemy's imagination", declaring that threats of an all-out war or assassination would not force Tehran to abandon its rights and interests.
"We will not be intimidated, and we are ready to deliver a response beyond the enemy's imagination to any violation of the territorial integrity of our great Iran," Qalibaf said while addressing the opening of a parliamentary session.
He said threats of a full-scale war or assassination would not make the Iranian people back down, signalling Tehran's refusal to yield to pressure from Washington and its allies.
"Threats of an all-out war or assassination will not force the Iranian nation to back down from its rights and interests," he said.
Qalibaf accused the United States of becoming "trapped in a crisis of its own making" through what he described as "miscalculations" and an unprovoked war against Iran.
He argued that Washington, rather than Tehran, now "needed to take steps to extricate itself from the situation."
The parliamentary speaker said the US must change its conduct, abandon what he called its "bullying and rapacious ways", and make tangible amends for commitments it had violated before its claims could be considered credible by Iran.
"Until the Americans change their behaviour, abandon their bullying and rapacious ways, and make tangible, concrete, and genuine amends in practice for their violated commitments, none of their claims will carry even the slightest credibility for the Islamic Republic," he said.
"Iran has nothing new to say," Qalibaf added.
He said Washington has failed to recognise how fundamentally Iran has changed since the era of the monarchy, when the United States wielded considerable influence over the country's affairs.
"Today, our beloved Iran is not merely free from being a colony of Western and Eastern advisers; it is an independent and powerful regional force," Qalibaf said, adding that the prospect of foreign powers and Israel again dictating Iran's future had become a "nightmare" for them.
Qalibaf also invoked the legacy of the Islamic Republic's founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, recalling his protest against legislation under the former monarchy that granted legal immunity from prosecution in Iran to American military personnel and their associates.
He said Khomeini has denounced the measure as an affront to Iran's independence and dignity, accusing the former regime of sacrificing national interests to American and Israeli priorities.
Qalibaf argued that the episode demonstrated the connection between US policy and Israeli interests, adding that sanctions, assassinations and military and economic pressure on Iran reflected what he described as a continuing effort by foreign powers to dominate the country.
He reiterated that Iran would not allow outside powers to determine its national future.
The remarks came as US President Trump said that he may resume strikes after the mid term polls on November 3 while Qalibaf's statements underscored Iran's warning that any attack on its territory would invite retaliation.
