Russia launches big wave of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv just hours after agreeing to hold trilateral talks on Ukraine

Moscow/Kyiv, Oct 22 (UNI) Russia launched a barrage of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv overnight, killing at least two people and injuring 22, including four children, hours after President Vladimir Putin agreed in-principle to resume trilateral peace negotiations following talks with US envoy Steve Witkoff.
The bombardment damaged civilian homes, energy infrastructure, office buildings, an ambulance station, a monastery and a bridge over the Dnipro River, Ukrainian officials said. Attacks were reported across 12 regions, including the southern port city of Odesa, where port infrastructure was badly damaged.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes showed Moscow had made no meaningful shift towards ending the war.
