North Korea test-fires upgraded multiple-rocket launcher shells

Soul, Sep 24 (UNI) North Korea said Thursday it had test-fired upgraded shells for its 240mm multiple rocket launcher system, calling for the deployment of its “deadliest” attack capabilities along the border with South Korea.
The test, conducted Tuesday, involved upgraded 240mm-caliber guided multiple-launch rockets and was carried out under the country’s five-year plan to modernize its artillery and missile forces, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
Senior military officials overseeing the test said the development of longer-range rockets would bring a “significant change” to North Korea’s firepower readiness along the southern border, according to KCNA.
