Yemen fighting displaces more than 130,000 since September: UN

Geneva, Sep 22 (UNI) More than 130,000 people have fled their homes in Yemen since the start of September as fighting spreads across multiple front lines, the UN refugee agency UNHCR said, warning that the escalation could trigger further mass displacement inside the country and across the Gulf of Aden.
UNHCR said the worsening violence is driving growing numbers of people towards Djibouti, Somalia and other countries. Civilians were bearing the brunt of the fighting, with at least 110 casualties reported, including 28 deaths, and the agency said the figures were likely to rise.
Taiz has accounted for more than 60% of the displacement, with many families unable to leave the governorate because of fighting, blocked roads and a lack of transport and fuel, UNHCR said.
