Gunmen open fire on security posts, homes in southern Syria's Suwayda

Damascus, Oct 2 (UNI) Armed groups opened fire on internal security posts and residential homes on Friday in the Mazraa area of western Suwayda province in southern Syria, state broadcaster Alikhbariah TV reported.
The broadcaster described the attackers as "outlaws" and said there were no immediate reports of casualties or details on the extent of damage.
Syria's Interior Ministry had not immediately issued a statement on the incident.
The reported attacks come about a month after four security personnel were wounded on Aug. 31 while responding to attacks in the western Suwayda countryside that authorities at the time attributed to "outlaw groups".
Suwayda, a predominantly Druze province in southern Syria, has experienced recurring violence and clashes in recent months, underscoring continuing security challenges in the region.UNI AAB
