Four killed in mass shooting in Carribean island of Saint Vincent, 4 injured

Mexico City, Sep 27 (Sputnik/UNI) Four people were killed and four others sustained gunshot wounds in a mass shooting in the Green Hill area of the Carribean island of Saint Vincent, the Saint Vincent Times reported.
According to the newspaper, the shooting occurred overnight into Saturday; gunmen arrived at the scene in a vehicle and opened fire on a group of people present there. The deceased were three men and one woman.
This incident marks the second-deadliest mass shooting in the history of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. In July 2023, five people were killed in a shooting in the Harbour Club area of the capital, Kingstown.
The incident took place just over two months after another armed attack in Kingstown that left three people dead.
The country's homicide count since the beginning of 2026 has reached 39 — in a population of approximately 110,000 — approaching the total figure for the entire year of 2025, when 40 murders were recorded.
Local residents reportedly suspect a link to gang activity; however, law enforcement authorities have not confirmed this theory and have appealed to eyewitnesses for information
