Putin open to engaging with all parties for reaching peace in Ukraine, says Kremlin

Moscow, Oct 30 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin remains willing to engage with all parties in pursuit of a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, responding to a Financial Times report that the US was considering Britain, Germany and France as potential European representatives in negotiations.
Peskov said the participation of European countries in talks between Russia, the US and Ukraine had not been discussed.
“No, this was not discussed with anyone. The Financial Times is probably discussing this in its newsroom,” he said.
He added that Putin remained open to contacts aimed at securing peace in Ukraine. “He was open, he is open, and he will remain open to these contacts,” Peskov said.
The spokesman also said that Russian and Ukrainian ombudspersons Yana Lantratova and Dmytro Lubinets were actively coordinating their efforts, including over a humanitarian operation in Alyoshki in the Kherson Region.
Peskov said there was a “fairly high level of coordination” between the two countries’ human rights officials, adding that Lantratova was working closely with her Ukrainian counterpart.
The operation is intended to deliver essential humanitarian supplies to residents of Alyoshki and allow those wishing to leave the settlement to do so.
“Those who wish to do so will be able to leave the settlement,” Peskov said, adding that humanitarian assistance was reaching people in need. He said further updates from the site were awaited.
Peskov also suggested that more European politicians could establish contact with Moscow if “reason” prevailed in Europe. However, he said any increase in such contacts would not affect the trilateral negotiations between Russia, the US and Ukraine scheduled for November.
