Russia, US, Ukraine agree to trilateral negotiations without European involvement, says Kremlin

Moscow, Oct 30 (UNI) Russia, the US and Ukraine have agreed to resume trilateral negotiations on a settlement to the war, with no European countries included in the agreed format, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.
Commenting on reports that Washington was considering Britain, Germany and France as potential European representatives in the talks, Ushakov said only the three parties had agreed to resume negotiations. No date has yet been set.
"We have agreed to resume trilateral negotiations," he told Kommersant.
Ushakov said the Kremlin had taken note of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's remarks indicating a willingness to discuss the territorial issue. He added that all parties wanted an end to the conflict.
"Everyone wants it, everyone strives for it," he said.
Ushakov suggested that a resumption of talks could be within reach, pointing to what he described as a shift in the mood among US officials and growing differences within European circles over the conflict.
He said European countries had begun showing signs of tension over the issue, adding that some politicians appeared to hold different views on continued support for Ukraine. He blamed what he called Europe's "crazy support" for the continuation of the conflict.
Asked about the humanitarian operation in Alyoshki in the Kherson Region, Ushakov said he did not know the details but believed it was proceeding more or less normally.
He also said Russian President Vladimir Putin had concluded discussions on the outcomes of the Russia-Africa summit and was due to hold nine bilateral meetings with the heads of African delegations.
