Ukraine preparing to sign landmark defence agreement with US on UNGA sidelines

Kyiv/Washington, Sep 23 (UNI) Ukraine is ready to sign a landmark drone defence deal with the US, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is prepared to sign the deal on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly this week in New York City, but the sources said the deal may instead be finalised at a later date, when the U.S. is ready to sign.
Over the past year, the Department of Defense and its Ukrainian counterpart have developed a framework that would allow the two countries' militaries to expand testing and production of Ukrainian defence technology in the U.S.

Jerusalem, Oct 2 (UNI) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday that authorities were investigating whether the FlyDubai co-pilot accused of attempting to crash the TelAvivi-bound flight with 174 people on board could have been "dispatched" by some third party, or was just an individual attempt, vowing that if there was a third party who sent him then they would "pay a very heavy price.".

Egypt warns Israeli Al-Aqsa incursions seek to alter status quo, impose ‘new reality’

Cairo, Oct 2 (UNI) Egypt has condemned the entry of hundreds of Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, warning that repeated incursions and religious rituals at the holy site were aimed at altering its established historical and legal status quo and creating a “new reality.”
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the incursions, accompanied by what it described as provocative acts and religious rituals in the mosque’s courtyards, constituted violations of the historical and legal arrangements governing Jerusalem’s holy sites.
